All students are strongly encouraged to get involved in the wide range of extra-curricular activities that are on offer in our school. No student, who wishes to be involved, will be turned away from any activity. We are small enough as a school to cater for all our students in the full range of activities. We want participation and through this, we seek excellence. We want to see our students performing and competing at the highest level but we also want them to be involved.

Activities can be separated into Sports, Performing Arts and Cultural Groups.

Sports

Special Programmes

We offer a wide range of Sports in our school and with that we have several programmes on offer to develop potential and support top performers. These are:-

›          The Gryphons Club which caters for all our top or most promising Sports people. Membership is for those students who have already achieved representative status at North Harbour, Auckland or New Zealand level or who have demonstrated the potential to reach that level in the near future. The members receive support to keep up with their school-work when training and competing make demands on their time and energy. Nutritional advice is provided, training advice where needed and motivational speakers come in to Club meetings.

›          Shine (AUT) caters for a small group of our very best Sports people and is motivational and goal focused.

›          The Rugby Development Squad takes the best and most promising rugby players and runs some extra key training sessions for these boys and girls to develop higher level skills using leading coaches in the region.
